TNA's 'Hidden BMD' site is "a great help" says users
The National Archives has launched a new site that aims to help people
with their research in the years before compulsory registration in
1837. The records are currently for categories RG4 and RG5, which are
non-conformist registers. |

TNA Launch New Site - Hidden BMDs 1567 to 1858
In the years before compulsory registration, you need to turn to
parish records. This new website that has been launched by The
National Archive allows you to search records from 1567 to 1858.

Closure at the FRC
The Family Records Centre closes on the 31st October, and plans to
move the entire record collection to The National Archives, Kew.

Stepping Stones Merge with S&N
Stepping Stones, the York-based company that was set up in 1996 to put
census and directories on CD and DVD has been bought by S&N Genealogy

2005 BMD Data Now Available
The 2005 Births, Marriages and Deaths index has been added to
TheGenealogist.co.uk - this is the latest data to be released by the
GRO. |

Army Lists now available to view Online

records for their users to search. Includes the volumes: 1806, 1842,
1863, 1881, 1904, 1915 and 1920. |
